Senior Electrical Services Specialist

Winnipeg, Manitoba

 

Dynamo Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer, Senior Electrical Technologist, or Journeyperson Electrician to take a lead role in developing our Manitoba operations.

As a leader in providing design-build projects, maintenance services and technical solutions for industrial and utility clients in Western Canada, our goal is to build strong working relationships with key clients through providing a high level of customer service.  This unique opportunity is perfect for the individual driven to make a difference and wanting to shape the future and goals of a new service team.  It is expected that this leadership position will expand quickly to include office management and supervision of junior technical staff.

Joining our team will mean taking a visible role with new and existing clients in Manitoba.  You will also be expected to help develop and support the engineering and electrical construction elements of our organization.  This will involve quoting, in-house design and study functions, as well as field-orientated project construction, commissioning, preventative maintenance and testing assignments.
 

Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • New business development.

  • Design, inspect, commission, test, maintain and repair electrical power and control systems; generators, transformers, breakers, protection relays and other equipment.

  • Point of contact for customers.

  • Scheduling manpower and equipment for multiple projects.

  • Provide technical services and support to internal/external customers.

  • Operations and reliability engineering support for a variety of industrial and utility clients.

  • Writing quotes, proposals and technical reports related to studies or service calls.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ applicable work experience and affiliation (or eligibility) with a professional organization (A.Sc.T., P. Eng., or equivalent).

  • Journeyperson Canadian Inter-provincial Red Seal certification.

  • Specialized expertise of a particular area in your field of practice.

  • Time management and organizational skills to balance field and office work commitments.

  • Willing to travel and work extensive hours to maintain strict timelines.

  • Solid understanding of the business and customer environment.

  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs.

  • Physical fitness test and drug and alcohol test will be required.

  • Valid driver's license.

Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technologist

Health & Safety Officer

Saskatoon or Regina, Saskatchewan

 

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to coordinate implementation of the Safety program in the field.  The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to continuous improvement and participate in the development of policies, and systems.  You are a leader in safety with specialized knowledge and skills to provide worker training as required.  You interact with Dynamo Electric personnel at all levels and clients with respect to their specific site requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Support operations in meeting all Health, Safety and Environment policy commitments.

  • Provide interpretation and guidance applying Act and Regulation legislation.

  • Assist in job planning, creating hazard assessments and providing safety resource support for operations to meet all job specific safety requirements.

  • Conduct safety inspections, audits and develop corrective action plans with management.

  • Participate in Incident Investigations and Return to Work programs as required.

  • Monitor compliance with legislated and internal requirements, track performance measures, interpret results and coach workers on how to improve HS&E performance.

  • Assess training needs and provide or coordinate job specific safety training.

  • Manage and track safety documentation.

  • Demonstrate behaviors and attitudes to develop a strong corporate safety culture.

  • Maintain knowledge of current HS&E strategies, trends and technologies to influence the adoption of new standards when applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) Certification. 

  • Above-average interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work as part of a team.

  • Current valid Driver’s Licence and Driver’s Abstract required.

  • Ability to travel to and from various worksites in Western Canada.

  • Thorough knowledge of industrial construction practices, techniques and equipment as well as local Acts, Policies, Regulations, Codes and Practices.

  • Possess superior organizational and problem-solving skills. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs specifically, word & excel.

  • ​Familiarity with ISNetworld program.

Project Manager

Saskatoon or Regina, Saskatchewan

 

Our Construction and Engineering departments have project management opportunities in both of our Saskatoon and Regina offices.  These are leadership positions that report directly to department managers and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, overseeing construction and contract details on multiple client projects.  We offer competitive wages and an extensive benefits package.  Preference will be given to persons with experience in industrial, high voltage substation or utility areas.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and execution of projects including; scheduling manpower and equipment, purchasing materials, managing subcontractors and equipment rentals, scope control and change order management.

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations while meeting customer schedules and requirements.

  • As a leader you will supervise and develop employees on your projects to ensure that department goals and customer requirements are met.

  • Communication and coordination of work externally with client contacts and internally with various operating and support departments.

  • Maintain grow customer relationships by providing exceptional service.

  • Participate in the estimating and tendering process.

Qualifications:

  • PPMP designation or some other form of project management training.

  • At least 5 + years’ experience as an electrical Journeyman Job Lead, Technologist or Engineer working on and managing projects in an industrial environment.

  • Experience with high voltage electrical equipment and substation construction is an asset.

  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and team building skills. 

  • You possess strong organizational skills, computer skills and have the ability to plan and execute project work safely, efficiently and possibly under tight time constraints.

  • Current valid Driver’s Licence & Driver’s Abstract required.
