Technical Services Specialist

Winnipeg, Manitoba

Dynamo Electric is one of Western Canada's fastest growing engineering, construction and technical service companies. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering Technologist to further develop our Manitoba operations.

As a leader in providing design-build projects, maintenance services and technical solutions for industrial and utility clients in Western Canada, our goal is to build strong working relationships with key clients by providing a high level of customer service.  This unique opportunity is perfect for the individuals driven to make a difference and wanting to shape the future and goals of a new service team. 

Joining our team will mean taking a visible role with new and existing clients in Manitoba.  You will also be expected to help develop and support the engineering and electrical construction elements of our organization.  This will involve quoting, in-house design and study functions, as well as field-orientated project construction, commissioning, preventative maintenance and testing assignments.

Some of your responsibilities may include:
  • Developing and managing key client relationships.
  • Provide leadership to the Winnipeg Office
  • Develop a team of top performers and future leaders in the organization.
  • Ensures key financial targets for Winnipeg Office are met by managing expenses and monitoring revenues.
  • Ensuring all key performance indicator targets for Winnipeg Office are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure compliance with and identifying opportunities to enhance safety and training.
  • Scheduling manpower and equipment for multiple projects.
  • Design, inspect, commission, test, maintain and repair electrical power and control systems; generators, transformers, breakers, protection relays and other equipment.
  • Provide technical services and support to internal/external customers. 
  • Operations and reliability engineering support for a variety of industrial and utility clients. 
  • Writing quotes, proposals and technical reports related to studies or service calls.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technologist and affiliation with a professional organization (A.Sc.T., P. Eng., C.E.T, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a maintenance, design-build, manufacturing, construction, or utilities company with significant experience managing technical projects will be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong communicator who can enhance performance through open dialogue.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge strong relationships with team, corporate departments, key business partners and customers.
  • Proven ability as a mentor who can lead cross-functional teams dedicated to achieving strategic goals, including quality control, customer satisfaction and on-time performance.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, accurate and possess the ability to meet sudden deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).

Electrical Engineering Technologist

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

IT Support Technician

Regina, Saskatchewan

We are looking for an IT Support Technician in Regina. This position reports directly to the IT Administrator to ensure operational efficiency by providing courteous, timely response as well as troubleshooting of incoming user issues and requests. Assist with ensuring the IT infrastructure is reliable and secure while meeting our constantly growing needs. You will provide computer and network maintenance for all IT related systems and support for their users. This position maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Receive IT Help Desk request via phone, e-mail and chat channels
  • Respond with a high sense of urgency & care to users’ calls & emails
  • Trouble-shoot computer, network, telephone and software problems
  • Maintenance of all office equipment such as printers, copiers, etc.
  • Update Tuesday - Testing and Roll Out 
  • Train employees on new software and hardware
  • Track assets and users
  • Document solutions and track problems
  • Update website and assist with marketing
  • Build Crystal Reports and assist in app development
 Job Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma from a post-secondary educational institute in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an IT support capacity
  • Excellent communication, telephone, and customer services skills
  • Experience with o365/Active Directory administration
  • Experience with Asset Panda, FortiGate, IoT considered an asset

Project Manager

As a leader in providing design-build projects, maintenance services and technical solutions for industrial and utility clients in Western Canada, our goal is to build strong working relationships with key clients through providing a high level of client service. 
 
Joining our team will mean taking a visible role with new and existing clients.  This is a leadership position that reports directly to department managers and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, overseeing construction and contract details on multiple client projects. Preference will be given to persons with experience in industrial facilities, high voltage substations or electric utilities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, evaluate, and monitor the progress of projects throughout their cycle.
  • Manage contract scope and change orders with the client.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones to meet established schedules.
  • Manage and monitor agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Schedule manpower and equipment for the projects.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Direct and monitor closely all project purchases and costs.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of staff and subcontractors on the projects.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations while meeting client schedules and requirements.
  • Communication and coordination of work externally with client contacts and internally with various operating and supporting departments.

 Qualifications:
  • PMP designation or other formal project management training.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an electrical Journeyman Job Lead, Technologist or Engineer.
  • Preference will be given to persons with experience managing projects in industrial facilities, high voltage substations or electric utilities.
  • Experience with high voltage electrical equipment and substation construction is an asset.
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and team building skills.
  • You possess strong organizational skills, computer skills and have the ability to plan and execute project work safely, efficiently and possibly under tight time constraints.

Industrial Apprentice Electrician

Regina, Saskatchewan

Dynamo Electric is one of Saskatchewan’s fastest growing and most specialized electrical service providers – providing engineering, design-build construction, testing and electrical maintenance for utilities and industrial clients.

We are looking for an Industrial Apprentice Electrician in Regina, with minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience preferably with industrial experience to provide support to the electrical service aspects of our business. 

Responsibilities:

By joining our team, your duties will be focused primarily on the technical side of electrical installation and will include, but are not limited to:
  • High voltage terminations;
  • PLC & control wiring;
  • Power distribution and generation.
  • Cable tray and raceway installation
  • Power and control cable installation and termination.
  • Lighting and fire alarm installation.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 - 3 year's Apprentice Electrician Experience. 
  • Current Valid Driver’s Licence & Driver’s Abstract required.
  • Ability to thrive in a minimal supervision environment
  • Ability to pay careful attention to detail.

Electrical Engineering Technologist

Our Regina office requires a full-time Electrical Engineer-in-Training or Electrical Engineering Technologist to provide support for the engineering consulting and field service aspects of our business.  By joining our technical team, you will be exposed to both-in-house design/study functions as well as field-orientated project construction, commissioning and testing assignments.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Power system studies; short circuit, coordination, power flow, arc flash, etc. 

  • Plant engineering and reliability engineering support for a variety of industrial and utility clients.

  • Application, design, configuration and commissioning of process control systems distribution and process automation equipment.

  • Writing technical reports related to studies or service calls.

  • Communication point of contact for customers.

  • Provide technical services and support to internal/external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Post-Secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

  • Knowledge of electrical protection, industrial process control and automation applications.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
